156 social leaders and HRDs have been killed in the last 14 months
Colombian Ombudsman recently published a report where he states that, during the period between January and February of 2017, 156 HRDs and social leaders were killed.
The colombian Ombudsman, Carlos Alfonso Negret Mosquera, presented a report in regards to violence and threaths againg social leaders and human rights defenders. It states that during the during the period between January and February of 2017, 156 HRDs and social leaders were killed, 5 more were forcibly dissapeared and 33 were victims of attacks.
The victims were social leaders and human rights rights defenders from the colombian regions of Antioquia, Arauca, Atlántico, Bolívar, Caldas, Caquetá, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Chocó, Huila, La Guajira, Magdalena, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Risaralda, Santander, Tolima y Valle del Cauca.
